STAMFORD, Conn. – The Vassar men's squash team bested Ohio State 6-3 in the CSA Team Nationals quarterfinals but were tripped up 6-3 against Colgate in the semifinals. The Brewers now face Notre Dame on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in the consolation round.

In the quarterfinals, the Buckeyes won the first three positions. Joe Schmidt downed No. 1
Viraj Nadkarni (Mumbai, India) in four sets at 11-9, 6-11, 11-1 and 11-6.
Caden Gruber (Costa Mesa, CA) dropped the second position in four sets, winning the first 11-6. He then fell 11-4, 11-7 and 11-8. Alex Wisneski (Mechanicsburg, PA) was swept 3-0 at the third.

The Brewers found their strength on the backend, winning the fourth through ninth spots, sweeping five of them.
Milind Joshi (Pune, India) swept Ohio State's Noah Fabec 11-8, 11-5 and 11-5. Going five set, No. 5
Isaac Stuart (Swampscott, MA) lost the first set 11-7, but won two straight at 11-5 and 13-11. After slipping 11-9 in the fourth, Stuart went extra points and won 12-10in the fifth.

Travers Parsons-Grayson (Newport, VT), No. 8
Reese Collins (Bedford, NH) and No. 9 Liam Condon (Auburndale, MA) sealed the victory with 3-0 sweeps.

Colgate has been a challenge for Vassar, defeated the Brewers in the previous two matches. Nadkarni swept the first with scores of 11-8, 11-7 and 11-9 and Gruber tallied the five-set win against Tom Sneeringer. Wisneski fell at the third and Joshi battled five sets with Oliver Green. In the fifth set, Joshi was edged 19-17 in one of the longest sets of the season for the 3-2 loss. Mitchell tabbed the only other win, a 3-0 sweep over Michael Malof.

The Brewers continue the CSA Team Nationals tomorrow morning by facing Notre Dame at 8:30 a.m.
