2018-19: CSA Scholar Athlete... Liberty League All-Academic... Moved to the No.1 and No. 2 courts as a senior, going 7-15 overall... Had three wins at the first court and four at the second.

2017-18: In his third year as a Brewer, Gruber played as the team’s No. 3… he recorded a 9-15 overall mark with all nine of his wins coming in the third spot… His nine wins were tied for second most on the team… Five of his wins came in four games and was forced to five games just once this season when he claimed a win over Colgate… He ended his season strong with wins over Bryant and Brandeis at the CSA Nationals… Was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week once this season.

2016-17: Went 7-13 for the Brewers, playing anywhere from the No. four to No. seven position…Opened the season with four straight wins at the No. seven position…picked up three straight wins later in the season against Boston University, University of Vermont and Northeastern, playing at the six position….earned Liberty League All-Academic honors.

2015-16: Played his only match of the season at the No. 10 position, picking up a loss against Matt Stefanak of #19 Wesleyan University.

PRIOR TO VASSAR: Was a varsity cross country and track runner for the Sea Kings of Corona del Mar High School. 

PERSONAL: Parents Jon and Holly Gruber...has one sister, Emily (20)...plans to major in cognitive science...chose Vassar over Reed College, Colgate and the University of Michigan.
