MIDDLETOWN, CT - It was a tough day of play for the Vassar College women's squash team, which shouldered a pair of losses at the Wesleyan University Round Robin on Saturday. The Brewers fell to the host Cardinals by a 9-0 margin, before shouldering a 7-1 loss to William Smith.
In the opening match against the Cardinals, the Brewers had several tough efforts despite the shutout. From three, senior
Sydney Nemphos faced-off agianst Valeria Osorio, falling by a 3-1 (11-7, 4-11, 8-11, 5-11) margin.
From one, sophomore
Claire Coss played against Aditi Prasad, battling to a 3-0 (11-7, 11-6, 11-4) loss.
In the second match of the day, Nemphos broke through into the win column, powering past Natalia Welker at three by a 3-0 (11-3, 11-1, 11-7) margin.
Freshman
Claire Weiss also played a hard-fought match, shouldering a 3-0 loss, but by a 11-9, 11-6, 11-8 margin.
Vassar is now idle until January 9th when it returns to action on the road at George Washington for a 2pm tilt.
