Vassar Women's Lacrosse Notes - RIT, Rochester

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (April 5, 2018) – The Brewers host a pair of league games this weekend beginning with RIT on Friday at 4:00 p.m. Vassar will then host the University of Rochester on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Saturday's contest was originally scheduled for 2:00 p.m., but was moved up one hour.

Last Time Out: The Vassar women's lacrosse team dropped to 1-1 in the Liberty League after a 17-7 loss to Clarkson University on Weinberg Field. The Brewers' seven goals was their lowest scoring output of the season against the second-best scoring defense in the league with the Golden Knights only allowing 6.67 goals per game. Fiona MacLeod (three goals, one assist) and Kelly Pushie (two goals, two assists) each recorded four points on the afternoon to lead the Brewers. Alessandra Fable tallied one goal and one assist while Olivia O'Loughlin scored just once. The Brewers held the advantage in draw controls at 14-11 led by Adele MacEwen's eight. MacLeod and Sydney Nemphos each caused three turnovers to lead Vassar in the category.
 
A Look At The Brewers (2-5, 1-1 Liberty League):
  • Vassar is second in the league in assists per game with 5.57 helpers per contest.
  • The Brewers also rank second in the Liberty League in caused turnovers per game with 11.29 and fourth in draw controls per game with 13.00.
  • Kelly Pushie is fourth in the league with 1.71 assists per game and leads the Brewers with 12 assists this season.
  • Storm Sideleau leads the team in both points (25) and goals (19).
  • The Brewer offense is scoring 10.71 goals per game this season.
  • As a team, VC owns a .792 shots on goal percentage.
  • In cage, Emily Chancey has started all seven games while racking up 69 saves with a .416 save percentage, and a 13.86 goals against average.
  • Fiona MacLeod and Sydney Nemphos are the team leaders in caused turnovers with 14 and 12, respectively.
 
A Look At The Tigers (5-5, 3-2 Liberty League):
  • Senior attack Emily Livecchi leads the league with 5.90 points per game with 59 points this season. Her 34 goals and 25 assists are both tops on the team as well.
  • Second on the team in points is Alanna Fallone at 39 points off 33 goals and six assists.
  • Freshman Paulina Goodermote has taken over as the starter, earning a start against St. Lawrence.
  • Goodermote owns a .395 save percentage with 34 saves and an 11.15 goals against average.
  • On the draw, Collette Rigas has secured 34 draw controls this season.
 
Against RIT All-Time: The Brewers are 5-3 all-time against the Tigers dating back to 2004. The teams have met every year since the 2012 season with Vassar winning four out of six during that span, including a 12-7 win at Rochester last season.
 
A Look At The Yellowjackets (0-7, 0-4 Liberty League):
  • Leading Rochester in points is Madeline Levy (17) and Jamison Seabury (16).
  • Levy is tops on the team with 15 goals while Jamison is tied for the team lead in assists (3).
  • In goal, Conley Ernst has started all seven games while collecting 64 saves with a .444 save percentage and a 12.52 goals against average.
  • Madeline Mullholand leads the Yellowjackets with 27 draw controls on the season.
  • Sarah Jahnige is the defensive leader on the squad with 10 caused turnovers this year.
 
Against Rochester All-Time: The Brewers are 7-11 all-time against the Yellowjackets dating back to 1992. Vassar has won five out of the last seven matchups in the series, but fell 7-8 last season in Rochester.
