Vassar Women's Lacrosse Notes - Bard

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (April 24, 2018) – The Brewers will make the short trip to Bard to play the Raptors in their last road game of the season.

Last Time Out:  Last Saturday, the Brewers dropped a Liberty League match against No. 20 Ithaca College, 18-3. Senior Storm Sideleau scored two goals for the Brewers, and senior Emily Chancey made nine saves in a full game of action in goal.

A Look At The Brewers (4-9, 3-5 Liberty League):
  • The Brewers average 4.92 assists per game, second only to Ithaca in the conference.
  • Senior goalkeeper Emily Chancey's 124 saves is second-best in LL, averaging 10.33 saves per game.
  • One more assist will place Kelly Pushie on the single-season assists record list. Today, she leads VC with 20.
  • Fiona MacLeod has 18 assists on the year, just three shy of making the list.
  • Storm Sideleau currently has 16 free position goals, which is the second-most in Vassar Lacrosse history for a single season.
  • Sideleau is four goals shy of her 125th career goal.
  • The final two contests of the regular season are critical for the Brewers, as two wins may earn Vassar a spot in the Liberty League Tournament.
 
A Look At The Raptors (3-9, 0-8 Liberty League):
  • The Raptors have been winless since April 10th and are looking for their first league victory.
  • Juniors Dylan McDonald and Casey Witte lead the team offensively, with 25 and 22 goals respectively.
  • Five players have posted double-digit goal numbers on the year.
  • Bard ranks third in the LL in shot percentage (.422).
  • Sophomores Caleigh DeCaprio and Melissa Rosenthal share the ball well, both in the league top ten in assists per game.
  • Senior goalie Kaylynn Trann has stopped more shots in goal than anyone in the conference (136 saves, 11.33 saves/game).
 
Against Bard All-Time: The Brewers have never lost a game against the Raptors, leading the series 7-0. In their last year's meeting, Vassar won the home match, 14-3.
 
Up Next: VC will host Union on Saturday, April 28th at 2:00 pm in the final game of the regular season. The Brewers will honor six seniors prior to the contest.
