POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (January 30, 2018) – The Vassar College men's swimming & diving team will finish its dual meet season Wednesday evening, traveling to Montclair, NJ to take on Montclair State University in non-conference action from Panzer Athletic Center.

Last Time Out: Vassar was topped by visiting Pace University on Saturday, but Vassar saw some strong performances including three individual wins from senior
Jonah Strand. The senior from Woodstock, NY posted victories in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, while sophomore
Jordan Kalina swam a season-best time in the 1000 free of 10:17.74. Fellow sophomore
Matthew Imiolek also posted a personal best in the 200 free, taking second with a 1:57.26.
A Look At The Brewers (2-5):
- The Brewers have gotten contributions from many people lately, led in the sprint free events by Matthew Imiolek, who has a team-best 22.36 in the 50 free.
- Freshman Max White has the team's best 100 free time, set last weekend against Pace with a time of 48.50.
- White also has the squad's fastest 200 free time at 1:47.17, while sophomore Jordan Kalina's times of 5:02.88 in the 500 and 10:17.74 in the 1000 free are team-bests.
- Max White has registered a squad-best time of 53.92 in the 100 back to pace all Brewers, breaking the two-minute barrier in the 200 backstroke with a 1:57.99.
- Sophomore Harrison Taylor has the squad's best 200 butterfly time this season, setting his new season-best last weekend against Pace with a 2:09.02.
- Strand will look to better his season-best of 1:58.90 in the 200 IM, which leads all VC competitors.
- Senior Connor Martin will compete in the 1-meter diving event on Wednesday, with his sights set on besting his 180.45 set earlier in the season against Bard.
A Look At The Red Hawks (6-3):
- Montclair State has earned wins in each of their past two dual meets, defeating NJAC foes Ramapo College (149-113) and William Paterson University (174-116) recently.
- Junior Charles Cobbertt has led a very strong sprint freestyle group for MSU, as he has team-best times of 21.98 in the 50 free and 47.87 in the 100 free.
- Kevin Gibson is also a strong part of the sprint free group for the Red Hawks, as he has the team's second-best times in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle.
- Senior captain Michael Pacheco posted a 4:52.60 in the F&M Winter Invitational to set the team's best time in the 500 free, while chalking up a 10:16.94 in the 1000 free.
- Junior James Singewald is the team's best 100 and 200 backstroke times this year, posting a 54.22 in the 100 and a 1:58.92 in the 200 back.
- Kevin Clauss is the team's best breaststroke swimmer so far this year with times of 1:01.23 in the 100 and 2:14.20, while Daniel Borjas and Isaac Nitro (best name award nominee) also rank in the top three for MSU.
- Senior captain Steven Roth ranks as the Red Hawks's top butterfly option so far this season, as he recorded a 51.69 against Ramapo in the 100 fly.
- The Red Hawks will look to Michael Traina on the boards, as MSU's only diver so far this year.
