POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (January 20, 2018) – The Vassar women's squash team won their seventh in a row and first in 2018 as they took down Bucknell 8-1 on Saturday afternoon in Kenyon Hall.
 
Seven of the eight Brewer wins came in 3-0 fashion with Hannah Nice, Alessandra Pilkington, Cherylann Mucciolo, Emma Glickman, Kelly Rissman, Amanda Watson, and Julia Pollak all making quick work of the Bison.
 
Sydney Nemphos needed four games to earn her win at No. 2. After she dropped the first game 8-11, she bounced back to win three straight, 11-3, 11-5, 11-4.
 
Rebecca Slotkin was no pushover at the No. 8 spot, forcing five in her game. The senior won in the first, 11-2, before dropping the next two. Then she picked up a 13-11 win to force a deciding fifth game where she eventually fell 11-8.
 
The Brewers will host the 2018 Liberty League Championships in Kenyon Hall beginning at 11:00 a.m. next Saturday. Then on Sunday, Vassar will host Connecticut College at 11:00 a.m. for Senior Day.
