POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (April 25, 2017) – The Vassar Men's Tennis team (11-8, 4-2 LL) will head to Geneva, NY to take on Hobart College in the squad's final regular season contest at 1 p.m. on Saturday. With a win, the Brewers would finish with a conference record of 5-2.

Last Time Out: The Brewers came away with a victory over St. Lawrence University 7-2. This victory clinched a berth in the Liberty League Tournament.
 

A Look At The Brewers (11-8, 4-2 Liberty League):

• The Brewers came to play last Saturday on senior day, sweeping St. Lawrence in singles play.

• Nicky Litsky was named to the Liberty League honor roll for his wins in both singles and doubles last weekend.

• The Brewers have been up and down over their last six matches, trading off wins and losses over that period.

• Vassar has a 4-6 overall record on the road this season.

• Litsky is 17-6 overall in singles this season, earning the most singles wins of any Brewer.

• Fellow senior, Juan Felipe Laso, is 13-8 in singles this season.

• The Brewers have thrived in singles play, while struggling in doubles play at times throughout the season, earning .581 and .407 winning percentages in these respective areas of competition.

• The doubles duo of Litsky and Nick Zuczek has performed well as of late, winning two matches in a row and recording a record of 6-2 overall.

• Zuczek has been terrific this season in doubles competition, earning a 8-3 record.
   

A Look At The Statesmen (12-4, 4-1 Liberty League):

• Hobart currently sits in the second place position in the Liberty League, behind 7-0 Skidmore and above 4-1 RPI.

• The Statesmen come into the weekend riding a six-match winning streak, during which the closest match ended 7-2.

• Hobart has been perfect at home so far this season, going 4-0 with wins over Oneonta, RIT, St. Lawrence, and Roberts Wesleyan.

• Jonathan Atwater and Harry Nichols were recently named Liberty League Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week. The pair went a perfect 4-0 last week.

• First-year Statesmen Joe Mallon was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week due to his 4-0 performance in singles over that seven-day span.

• The Statesmen have a .669 winning percentage in singles play and a .625 winning percentage in doubles play.

• Jonathan Atwater has the most singles wins on the team, with 17.

• Alan Dubrovsky is a close second, earning a 16-4 overall record this year.

• Danny Kot has been terrific this season in doubles play, earning a 14-6 record.

Up Next:  The Brewers will play next in the Liberty League Tournament which will be held May 5th and May 6th in Ithaca, NY at the Reis Tennis Center at Cornell University.
