Last Time Out: Last week, the Brewers took down the University of New England and Fitchburg State University during their spring break trip to Florida. In the latter, a 14-2 victory over the Falcons, Storm Sideleau led the Brewers in scoring with a hat trick, while Fiona MacLeod, Kelly Pushie and Tessa Waters posted three points apiece on two goals and an assist.
A Look at the Brewers (2-2):
- Waters was named Liberty League Rookie of the Week, while Sideleau earned an Honor Roll nod on Monday for their performances against UNE and Fitchburg State. The full release can be read here.
- The Brewers have outshot opponents 126-104 overall and 99-79 in shots-on-goal. Of their 55 total goals, 21 have been assisted.
- VC has been aggressive on the field, winning the ground ball battle, 90-83, and the draw control battle, 64-36.
- Sideleau (11g, 2a) leads the Brewers with 13 points, while Waters (9g, 2a) and Fiona MacLeod (7g, 4a) have each tallied 11. Kelly Pushie has also been productive in her debut season, adding 10 points on nine scores and an assist.
- Waters and Mathes lead the squad with nine ground balls apiece. Waters has also won a team-leading 14 draw controls, while Mathes has created a team-best 11 turnovers.
- Kristin Caolo (1-2) and Emily Chancey (1-0) have split time in the cage. Caolo has made 15 stops for a 37.5 save percentage, while Chancey has fended away 21 shots for a 53.8 percentage.
- VC is 2-0 when completing more clears than opponents.
- The Brewers look to improve upon their 2016 campaign, in which they finished 6-9 overall and 2-7 in Liberty League play.
- This season, the Brewers are captained by Brittany Botticelli and Julia Trudell.
A Look at the Camels (0-3):
- The Camels have struggled in the early goings of the season with a 19-4 loss to Middlebury, a 14-6 loss to Claremont and most recently a 14-8 loss to Williams.
- Against Williams, Tina Balzotti (3g), Lacey Hale (2g, 1a) and Hannah Donegan (2g) led the offensive effort.
- Through three games, the Camels have been outshot 82-46 overall and 73-31 in shots-on-goal.
- Conn College has been right there with draw controls, winning 33 to opponents' 35. Madison Barker has been the primary specialist, winning a team-best 11 draw controls.
- Balzotti (8g) leads the squad with eight points, while Hanna Donegan (3g, 2a) and Julia Loesch (5a) each have five points.
- Haley Crimmins, Meg Raskin and Blaire Rose have all grabbed a team-best five ground balls.
- Raskin and Megan Mullin have split time in net, with Raskin (0-3) making 17 saves for a 30.9 save percentage and Mullin making nine for a 50.0 percentage.
- The Camels look to improve upon last season, in which they finished 5-10 overall and 1-9 in NESCAC play. They ended the year with six straight losses, and therefore enter Poughkeepsie on a nine-game losing streak.
- This year, the Camels are captained by Crimmins, Balzotti and Annie Cornbrooks.
Against Conn College All-Time: In their only meeting, the Camels beat the Brewers 14-2 in Poughkeepsie in 2001.
