Last Time Out: Vassar women's squash had a stellar performance against Bucknell University and Boston University. The Brewers bested both teams, as they shut out BU 9-0 and posted eight wins against Bucknell, 8-1. Hannah Nice, Vassar's No. 1, had a solid weekend, only letting BU's No. 1 score two points against her through three sets.

A Look At The Brewers (9-2):
  • The Brewers have had a great season thus far, boasting a 9-2 record, already winning more games than they did in their entire 2015-2016 season where they finished 7-9 on the season.
  • In the No. 1 position, junior Hannah Nice comes into this weekend with a strong individual record of  9-1. Nice played well last Seven Sisters Tournament, hosted by Vassar in 2016, where she bested Mount Holyoke and Smith's No. 1 players. She ultimately fell to Wellesley's Sarah Zhang after five hard-fought sets.
  • Jiamin Wu has stepped into the role of being No. 2 on the squad, winning three of the last five matches played.
  • Senior Isabelle Bertrand (No. 3) has been a solid force for the Brewers this season, having won eight out of the 11 matches played. She bested both opponents last weekend at the Hudson Valley Team Tournament.
  • Emma Glickman (No. 8), who came into the season late after going abroad in the fall, has won each of the three games that she has played.

A Look At Wellesley (4-8):
  • As the defending Seven Sisters Tournament Champion, Wellesley College proves to be tough competition this weekend. Vassar looks to improve upon its third-place finish at the Seven Sisters Tournament last year.
  • The Blue started the season 3-0, but have gone 1-8, most recently falling to William Smith on Saturday, 8-1.
  • Wellesley has beaten Boston College, Colby, Connecticut College and Haverford, but has fallen to Williams, Drexel, Frankline & Marshall, Dickinson, Colby, Bates and Conn College.
  • Sarah Zhang and Meera Nayar have split time at one. Zhang has a 3-1 mark, while Nayar has a 1-7 record at one and a 2-2 mark at two.
  • Eva Mullarkey has primarily played at two and owns the longest winning streak on the team, having won two in a row. She's 2-6 at two and 2-2 at three.
  • Over the past 10 matches, Audrey Fok has won the most games (six). She's 0-1 at eight, 2-2 at nine and 4-2 in exhibition play.

A Look At Smith (3-8):
  • The Pioneers started their season 0-8, but have since won three in a row, beating Bard College 5-2, University of Rochester 7-2 and most recently New York University 8-1.
  • Leah Jeon (2-4), Bevery LIpsey (2-4), Mieko Kuramoto (2-1) and Amanda Lee (2-4) are the only Pioneers with two wins on the season.
  • Geena Choo (1-5), Beatrice Chaudoin (1-3), Eva Morgenstein (1-5) and Xueying Wang (1-5) have all chalked up one win on the year.
  • Smith has been defeated by Vassar the past three times the two have squared off. The Brewers shut out the Pioneers in last year's tournament, 9-0.

A Look At Mount Holyoke (3-15):
  • The Lyons opened the season 2-1, with a season-opening loss to Vassar, but lost 12 straight games thereafter.
  • Mount Holyoke snapped the skid with a 9-0 shutout over Haverford College on Jan. 28, but has dropped its two most recent pairings, falling 9-0 to Dickinson and 6-3 to William Smith.
  • At the top of the lineup, Brandy Williamson has the second most wins on the team with a 7-11 record. Allison Shilling also has seven wins on the season, splitting time at three (3-8) and four (4-2).
  • Mount Holyoke has been solid at two, as Ragini Ghose boasts the best record on the team at 10-7, having won her most recent matchup.
  • Lessly Portillo is the only other Pioneer with at least five wins, owning a 6-12 record. She has split time at three (3-8) and four (4-2).

Up Next: After this weekend, Vassar women's squash will compete at the CSA Championships, which will run from Friday to Sunday, Feb. 24-26.
