POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (November 29, 2017) – The Brewers host their final games of the year this Saturday when they welcome Haverford and Bates to Kenyon Hall. Vassar squares off with the Fords at 10:00 a.m. and with the Bobcats at 3:00 p.m.
Last Time Out: Vassar has won four in a row, including two wins on November 18. The Brewers took down both Northeastern and Smith by scores of 9-0 at the Bard College Round Robin.
A Look at the Brewers (7-2):
- Three Brewers have posted seven wins this season with Emma Glickman, Isa Pengskul, and Kelly Rissman all leading the team in wins.
- Four other Brewers have six wins thus far.
- Pengskul is 7-1 this season and has won six straight games, playing mostly as the No. 9.
- At the top, the Brewers have gone 8-1 in the No. 1 spot with three different players earning wins at the No. 1.
- Last season, Vassar played Haverford twice, topping them 8-1 in both instances.
A Look at the Bobcats (1-1):
- Bates opened their season with a 7-2 win over Bowdoin on November 17.
- They followed that up with a close loss to Conn. College, 5-4, on November 18.
- The top four players for the Bobcats are all 2-0 this season.
- Sophomore Luca Polger is the No. 1 player for Bates.
- Bates is ranked No. 15 according to US Squash.
A Look at the Fords (2-0):
- Both of Haverford's wins have come by the score of 9-0, having beaten both Boston U. and Johns Hopkins.
- Haverford is ranked one spot behind Vassar (No. 29) at 30th according to US Squash.
- Seven Fords have 2-0 records this season.
- Last season, Haverford finished the year at 6-11 overall.
- At the 2016-17 CSA Team Championships, the Fords won two matches against Washington-St. Louis and Colgate.
Next up: The Brewers aren't on the courts again until January 20, 2018 when they host Boston College and Bucknell in Kenyon Hall.
