POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (November 16, 2017) – The Vassar women's squash team will head to Annandale-on-Hudson, NY for the Bard College Round Robin on Saturday. The Brewers will face off with Northeastern at 1:00 p.m. and Smith at 2:30 p.m.
Last Time Out: Vassar went 2-1 this past weekend at the Colgate Round Robin, going 2-1 against William Smith, Rochester, and Colgate. They picked up 9-0 wins over both Rochester and Colgate.
A Look at the Brewers (5-2):
- Senior Cherylann Mucciolo was named to the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll after posting a 2-1 record at the at the Colgate Round Robin.
- Vassar posted two 9-0 wins over the weekend, and four of their five wins are by a score of 9-0.
- Both Hannah Nice and Isa Pengskul have the best record on the team at 5-1.
- Two other Brewers have five total wins this season with Emma Glickman and Kelly Rissman both tallying a 5-2 mark this far.
- Pengskul has been rolling of late, having won four straight games.
A Look at the Huskies (1-2):
- The Huskies are ranked No. 37 in the US Squash College.
- Northeastern has posted just one win this season, a 9-0 victory over Rochester back on October 28.
- That same day, the Huskies fell in a close match with Boston College, 5-4.
- On Tuesday, the team matched up with the Golden Eagles once again, this time falling 7-2.
A Look at the Pioneers (0-1):
- Smith College ranks 42nd in the US Squash College.
- The Pioneers have played just one match this year, losing 9-0 to Mount Holyoke.
- All of their games were straight sweeps as they fell to the Lyons.
Next up: Vassar will host Haverford and Bates College on December 2
