POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (January 27, 2017) — The Vassar College women's squash team (7-2) will compete in the Hudson Valley Team Tournament at Kenyon Hall in Poughkeepsie, NY on Saturday (Senior Day), Jan. 28, beginning at 9 a.m. The tournament will also host events next day, but the Brewer women are not scheduled to play.

Last Time Out: Vassar defeated host Haverford College at the GIAC Squash Courts on Saturday, 8-1. Looking at the top of the lineup,
Hannah Nice (7-1) picked up her fifth straight win, defeating Isabelle Gotuaco, 11-5, 11-7, 11-5.

Emma Glickman also picked up wins at spots three through nine.
A Look At The VC Brewers (7-2):
- The Brewers finished the fall semester with a 6-2 mark. They beat Fordham University and Mount Holyoke College to open the season before falling to William Smith College. They then strung together four straight wins, beating Colgate University, Connecticut College, Haverford and Bard College, before falling to Tufts University on Dec. 4
- Vassar has played one match so far in 2017, beating Haverford 8-1 on Jan. 21 to improve its record to 7-2.
- Vassar has posted three shutouts so far this season: against Fordham, Colgate and most recently Bard. The Brewers have been held scoreless just once (against William Smith), as their most recently setback came by a 5-4 decision (against Tufts).
- Pilkington leads the Brewers with an 8-1 mark at the seven, having won her past six matches in a row.
- Four Brewers have registered seven wins on the season: Nice (7-1) at the one, Nemphos (7-2) primarily at the four, Mucciolo (7-2) primarily at the six and Howland (7-1) at the eight.
- The Brewers look to build off their 2015-16 campaign, in which they finished 7-9 overall.
- This year, Vassar boasts three captains in Isabelle Bertram, Nice and Scher.
- Howland, Scher and Bertram are the seniors that will be honored on Saturday.
A Look At The BU Terriers:
- The Terriers take on the Brewer women on Saturday at 9 a.m., competing on courts one through three.
- The BU women's squash program is under the direction of Joel Lavole.
- According to ussquash.com, the Terriers have played in two confirmed games this season, losing to Northeastern and Tufts.
- The Terriers were shut out in both matches, falling in straight sets in all but one game. Cameron Adajian fell in five sets at the five to Alexandra Berg of NU on Nov. 17.
- Since the program is considered an "emerging club," there is limited information available online.
A Look At The BU Bison:
- The Bison take on the Brewer women on Saturday at 2 p.m., competing on courts one through three.
- The BU women's squash program is under the direction of Cleo Greenwood.
- According to ussquash.com, the Bison have played in two confirmed games this season, beating Denison University 6-2 on Nov. 11 and shutting out Washington University in St. Louis 9-0 the same day.
- Against Washington University in St. Louis, Kelly Clark beat her opponent in four sets at the top of the lineup. Sophia Hartman, Anne E. Hart, Lisel Ferguson, Caroline Fakharzadeh, Molly Horning, Greenwood, Homa Gharagozlou and Isabel D. Harrington all beat their opponents in straight sets at the two through nine spots, respectively.
- In the Bison's 6-2 win over Denison, Fakharzadeh, Alexandra K. Lenard, Greenwood and Gharagozlou beat their opponents in straight sets at the three through six positions. Hannah Yeager also won in three at the eight.
- Since the program is considered an "emerging club," there is limited information available online.
Next Up: The Brewer women will compete in the Seven Sisters Championships, held in South Hadley, MA, on Saturday, Feb. 11. The time is to be determined.
