POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (March 2, 2016) – The Vassar College men's volleyball squad will travel to Albany, NY this Wednesday to match up against the Sage Colleges at 7 p.m.. The Brewers are coming in off of a split result at their last competition - a non-conference tri-match where they dropped a match to the top-ranked Pride of Springfield College and picked up a win against Lasell College.

What To Watch For
The Brewers have taken their 2016 bid by storm this year - currently resting at a 12-4 overall record. Their last competition was a split non-conference tri-match, where they took a tough loss against Springfield College who are currently No 1. and are making a good run for the Division III title. Before that, the Brewers took a loss against No. 12 NYU, where they fought tooth and nail to end up with a 1-3 loss where they skilled above 20 in every set. They came into that match off of a three streak win, picking up victories against Bard College, Penn State Behrend, and Mount Saint Vincent.
A Look At The Gators (8-13, 5-3 Skyline)
The Gators of the Sage Colleges have had a bit of a tough go at their 2016 season, currently posting a record of 8-13 overall and 5-3 in conference play. They will be entering Wednesday's match coming off of a decisive win against Yeshiva University on Sunday Feb. 28, where they bested them 3-0 on Yeshiva's home turf. Sophomore Ryan Guyton has been a key contributors for the Gators this season. Last week he even earned his second weekly honor from the Skyline Conference when he was named Skyline Player of the Week. Guyton ranks in the best service ace statistics in NCAA Division III volleyball - totaling 43 aces this season for a No. 2 ranking and .69 aces/set for a No. 12 ranking. The Gators are currently ranked No. 4 in the Skyline Conference behind No. 1 Ramapo, Kean, and NJCU.
Against Sages All-Time
The Brewers and the Gators have gone toe-to-toe four times in program history - in 2010, 2013, 2014, and 2015. VC has the upper hand in the all-time record with three wins on four competitions, all of which were taken 3-0. In 2013, the Gators scored their only victory against the Brewers, grinding out a 3-2 five-set battle for a win.
Traveling Safe
The Brewers have an impressive 10-2 record on the road and have proven they aren't shy playing on opponents' home turf, while at home they've split 2-2.
Killer Kriz
Senior Reno Kriz has been a powerhouse for the Brewers' offense this season, he currently leads VC with 185 kills on the season and 3.36/set. His stellar four years with the Brewers has gotten him into the record books - for twelve records - he sits No. 8 for career points, No. 4 for season points, No. 5 for season kills, No. 9 for career kills/set, No. 1 for season attack and service attempts, and is tied for No. 5 for matches played, to name a few.
First Sweep
The Brewers' loss to Springfield was their first without a single set win. VC's three other losses have come with at least one set victory.

Senior libero, Trey Cimorelli, currently leads the team in digs with 131 on the season, digs per set with a 2.43 posting, and receptions.
