ITHACA, NY (May 3, 2015) – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute swept the doubles and then saw No. 3 and No. 4 singles players Tristan Wise and Sherman Uyeno win their matches to give the Engineers a 5-1 win over Vassar College in the Liberty League Semifinals Saturday evening.

RPI, the second seed, advances to play top-seeded Skidmore College in the championship match on Sunday at 3pm. The winner earns an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Engineers have now won eight straight matches and improve to 14-3.Vassar finishes the season 9-10 overall.

Senior Daniel Cooper (Piedmont, CA/Piedmont) picked up the lone win for Vassar in the match, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles over Brandon Mazzara. Sherman Uyeno clinched the victory for RPI with a 6-1, 6-2 victory vs. Evan Udine at No. 4.
