CAMBRIDGE, MA (February 7, 2015) – The Seven Sisters Tournament, an annual event for the Vassar College women's squash team, was on the agenda Saturday afternoon and the Brewers finished third overall, going 1-2 on the day in play from Harvard University's Murr Center Squash Courts. VC fell to eventual winner Wellesley College 9-0 and Mount Holyoke College 8-1, before earning a 6-3 win over Smith College.
No. 24 Wellesley 9, No. 33 Vassar 0The Blue proved to be just too strong for the Brewers in the opening match of the day, but the top two matches in the ladder were a pair of thrillers. At No. 1,
Hannah Nice (Hanover, NH/Hanover) put her five-match win streak on the line. After winning the first set 11-8, WC's Sarah Zhang responded with an 11-9 victory. Nice regained the lead with an 11-6 victory, but Zhang outlasted Nice in the fourth set 13-11. In the deciding set, Zhang earned the win thanks to an 11-8 score.
