Box Score NEW YORK (February 27, 2015) -- Sophomore
Quinn Rutledge (Chesterfield, VA/Cosby) posted a season-best 10 kills Friday evening, but it wasn't enough as the Vassar College men's volleyball team fell to No. 10 Baruch College in non-conference action from the Baruch Athletic and Recreation Center.
The Brewers were in every set with the tenth-ranked team in the country, but would eventually fall in straight sets with scores of 28-26, 25-22 and 25-21.
Rutledge posted 10 kills on 22 swings, adding four digs and two blocks, while
Matthew Knigge (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) registered eight terminations and three blocks. Freshman setter
Zechariah Lee (Santa Clarita, CA/Saugus) finished with 35 assists, six digs, two blocks and two aces, and sophomore
Trey Cimorelli (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) posted a team-best eight digs. Junior captain
Reno Kriz (Breinigsville, PA/Parkland) added seven kills for the Brewers, who hit .135 for the match. VC had game point in the first set, and posted late leads in the second set but couldn't close either frame out.
Vassar (10-8) will return to action Wednesday evening at 7 p.m., traveling back to New York City to take on Hunter College in more non-conference action.
