What to Look For:
Vassar will look back in the win column this weekend when the team travels to play its third straight road dual match against Skidmore. Both teams are undefeated in conference play, and a win for Vassar could catapult the Brewers into first place in the Liberty League.

Last Time Out:
The Vassar men's tennis team dropped its first dual match of the spring season to The College of New Jersey on February 14, falling 9-0 on the road. Despite playing several close matches, the Brewers were edged in both singles and doubles to move to 3-2 on the season in duals. The Lions picked up their first win of the year in dual matches to stand at 1-0.

A Look at the Thoroughbreds:
Skidmore enters the spring ranked 27th in the nation and sixth in the Northeast Region after compiling several standout performances during the fall season.

Junior Kit Sanderson is slated as the team's top singles player, compiling an 8-3 record during the fall while earning the No. 18 ranking in the Northeast. Sanderson was named the Liberty League's singles performer of the Week on September 15 after winning the B Flight at the Middlebury Invitational. Freshman teammate Lucas Pickering also earned the honor on October 13 after claiming the C Flight title at the Bates College Wallach Invitational.

Skidmore also boasts the No. 6 doubles team in the region and No. 22 team nationally, as freshman Steven Koulouris and junior Nick Tong combined to go 6-3 as a pair during the fall. The duo fell in the Northeast Regional Doubles Championship to Matthew Heinrich and Benjamin Foran of Stevens Tech 6-2, 6-2.

Last Meeting:
The teams last met on Sunday, March 2 2014 when the Brewers fell 2-7 to the Thoroughbreds in Saratoga Springs. Then-freshman Nick Litsky picked up a win at No. 2 singles over Alec Hoblitzell, earning a 5-7, 6-4, 12-10 victory while Christian Phelps also earned a win at No. 3 singles over Jonah Epstein 7-5, 6-3. Skidmore swept the doubles bouts in the match, and was ranked No. 25 in the nation and No. 5 in the region at the time.

In the Polls:
The Vassar men's tennis team was voted to finish second in the Liberty League in the preseason coaches poll released by the conference offices this week. The Brewers received 41 points and one first place vote to claim the No. 2 spot, while defending champion Skidmore earned the top spot in the poll with 48 total points and six first place votes.
