POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (January 30, 2015) – The Vassar College men's and women's squash teams will finish up their home slates this Saturday, hosting the Hudson Valley Team Invitational in Kenyon Hall. The Brewers will be trying to springboard past last week's 8-1 losses on both the men and women's sides to Haverford College.

What To Watch ForThe Brewers will honor its five seniors this weekend, as
Roxanne Ringer (Ridgefield, CT/Home School) and
Ellie Opdahl (Tokyo, Japan/Cate School) on the women's team and
David Garfinkel (Larchmont, NY/Mamaroneck),
Noah Kulick (Cambridge, MA/Beaver Country Day) and
Ryan Kurtzman (Chicago, IL/Latin School of Chicago) on the men's team will each play their final matches in Kenyon Hall. The group has been very important to the team this season, and a presentation to honor the contributions of the seniors will happen prior to the 4:00 pm matches for both the men and women's teams.
Schedule Of EventsThe Brewers will take on Fordham University in women's action at 10 a.m., followed by Brandeis University taking on Bard College in men's play at noon. At 2 p.m., the Brewer men will take on Brandeis, while the University of Rochester women tussle with Fordham. In the night matches at 4 p.m., the Vassar women take on Rochester while the Brewer men host Bard.
Adding OnThe Vassar College men's squash team added three players to the roster after the holiday break, as juniors
Juan Fernandez (Colonia Chimalistac, Mexico/United World College Costa Rica),
Michael Iselin (Delmar, NY/Doane Stuart School) and
Ben Kurchin (Rochester, NY/Harley School) all rejoined the squad.
Moving On UpFreshman
Nancy Qi (Beijing, China/Beijing National Day) will play her first matches of the season Saturday, as she took over the No. 9 spot in the lineup after a challenge match earlier this week.
Twice As NiceBrewer freshman No. 1 player
Hannah Nice (Hanover, NH/Hanover) has been solid this season, going 6-1 at the top spot in the lineup, and 7-3 overall. Her only losses came outside the top position came at the Hudson Valley Individual Tournament in the beginning of the year.

Vincent Mencotti (Birmingham, MI/Brother Rice) continues to lead the VC men's team in victories, chalking up a 6-6 overall record thus far.
Schedule ChangeDefending champion Fordham University pulled out of this week's tournament late, and thus the weekend will only feature three teams on both the men's and women's draw.
Over 500So far this season, the Brewers are over .500 in total matches played, going 47-43 on the year. Four players currently have winning records on the team, while everyone that has competed in multiple matches has at least two wins.
Up NextThe Brewer women will head to the Seven Sisters Championships at Harvard University next weekend, while the men's team will take on Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY February 8 at 1 p.m.
