What To Look For
The play at this weekend's Hudson Valley Championships Team Tournament should be pretty exciting, as the six teams are separated by just 17 spots. Fordham is just four ranking spots above the Brewers, with four other teams separated by just six total spots. Many of the teams have played one another already this year, so it should make for some interesting rematches of previous matches. VC battled Fordham last Saturday and lost 8-1, but many of the outings were fairly close. With the team playing on its home courts, look for Vassar College to try to overcome the Rams, along with the other four teams.

A Look At The Tournament Field
Based solely on rankings, one would think that the Rams of Fordham were the prohibitive favorite to take the tournament. Kincade Webster is 13-7 this year, and won four of his five matches in the Hudson Valley Individual Tournament earlier this year at Vassar, losing to only Vassar's Vincent Mencotti (Birmingham, MI/Brother Rice).  Jeremy Keller and Paul Monghan round out the top three for FU.

Siena finished last year's season 1-13, posting a final ranking of 56. The Saints are led by Alex Reed, Matt Eliseo and Jarret Bodo, while Bard College comes to town 0-14. The Raptors and Siena battled earlier this year, with Siena narrowly defeating Bard, 5-4. Matt Lampiter is the No. 1 for the Raptors, and has fared well most of the year. Vermont and Gettysburg will try to battle to climb up the standings with a good outing this weekend.

Splendid Scher
Freshman Carly Scher (Penn Valley, PA/Herriton) has posted a team-leading five wins this season for the Brewers, playing 15 matches this season.

Novice Success
The Brewers have added many players to the roster over the last few weeks, with some having success. Noah Kulick (Cambridge, MA/Beaver Country Day), Margaret Walter (Ardsley-on-Hudson, NY/Phillips Exeter Academy), Roxanne Ringer (Ridgefield, CT/Home School) and Olivia Michalak (Chatham, NJ/Chatham) all picked up their first collegiate wins in recent weeks.

Senior Sendoff
During the Tournament Saturday, the Vassar College squash team will honor its four seniors in Alan Darer (Chestnut Ridge, NY/Rockland Co.), Ricardo Espinosa (Quito, Ecuador/Colegio Americano de Quito), Kiet Phun (Lincoln, NE/Lincoln) and Connie Zheng (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA/Palo Verdes Peninsula).

Good Old No. 7
The Brewers have had the most success in the No. 7 of the ladder this year, as the Brewers have posted four wins from the seventh position in the lineup.

Numbers Back
Vassar Women's Squash was forced join the men before the start of the season, but in recent weeks the women's turnout has allowed the head coach Jane Parker to play a lineup of eight women against visiting women's teams.
