POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (February 21, 2014) – The Vassar College women's tennis team will open its spring schedule by hosting Muhlenberg College on Saturday, February 22 at 12:00 pm in Walker Field House. The match is both teams' first action of the second semester portion.

A Look At The Brewers
Vassar (0-0, 0-0 Liberty League) had a strong fall season with top looks across the lineup. Freshmen
Emily Hallewell (Washington, DC/Stone Ridge School Sacred Heart) and
Shayna Becker (Murrieta, CA/University) had strong finishes at the New York State Tennis Championships at Ithaca College in October. Both won their singles brackets.
Sophomore
Kelsey Van Noy (Houston, TX/Duchesne Academy Sacred Heart) and freshman
Connie Yoo (Irvine, CA/Beckman) also took No. 1 in their respective brackets. The Brewers also welcome back All-American in doubles, Sam Schapiro.
A Look At The Mules
In the fall, Muhlenberg fell to Moravian 8-1. Emily Szulman and Nina Sanders scored the lone point for the Mules with an 8-2 win on the day. Szulman battled a close singles match but fell in a tiebreaker, 11-9.

The Brewers will next travel to Skidmore College on Saturday, March 1 for a 2:00 pm match start in Saratoga Springs, NY before hopping a plane for their Souther California Spring Break.
