POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (October 1, 2014) – The Vassar men's tennis team knocked off visiting Bard College Wednesday evening, sweeping the doubles matches and winning five of six in singles to earn the 8-1 victory. The dual match victory moves Vassar to 2-1 in the season and 2-0 in the Liberty League, while Bard drops to 0-2 on the year.

The Brewers got started in doubles, as junior Evan Udine (Delray Beach,FL/Boca Raton Community) and sophomore Juan Felipe Lasp (Quito, Ecuador/Colegio American De Quito) won first against Isaac Lertola and Keillor Mose 8-2 in the No. 2 match. Sophomore Nick Litsky (St. Petersburg, FL/Shorecrest Prep. School) and senior William Zhu (San Francisco, CA/Lowell) downed Philip Pozansky and Nicholas George 8-2 in the No. 3 match, while junior Daniel Cooper (Piedmont, CA/Piedmont) and sophomore Alexander Luckmann (Berkeley, CA/Head-Royce School) rounded out doubles with a 8-3 victory over Kevin McDonald and Ted Laport.

VC did not drop a single set in the five singles matches won by the Brewers, as the team cruised to its second consecutive dual match victory. Keillor Mose notched the lone victory on the day for the Raptors. Vassar will return to action this coming Saturday at the Connecticut College Invitational Tournament.
