Box Score 4 KENOSHA, WI (March 17, 2013) – The Vassar College men's volleyball team went 3-1 this past weekend at the Carthage/Milwaukee School of Engineering Tournament in Kenosha, WI. On March 16, the first day of play, Vassar went 2-0 with a 3-1 win over Fontbonne University (25-14, 21-25, 25-14, 25-14) and a 3-0 win over MSOE ( 25-10, 25-13, 25-17). On Sunday, March 17, Vassar's only loss was to host No. 3 Carthage, 3-1 (25-27, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20). The Brewers finished the weekend with a 3-1 win over Endicott College (25-13, 25-20, 21-25, 25-17).
With the 3-1 weekend, Vassar improves to 17-8 on the season. The Brewers will next host the Vassar Invitational on March 29-30, where they will first face NYU Polytechnic at 4:00 pm on Friday, and Nazareth College at 8:00 pm. Carthage next travels to Milwaukee to play Cardinal Stritch University on March 20.

Joe Pyne with a career-high 19 kills. Freshman
Reno Kriz and senior
Matt Elgin rounded out the offense with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Sophomore
Colin White-Dzuro orchestrated the offense with a career-high 34 set assists. Aaron Graue led Fontbonne with 18 kills.
The Brewers continued to cruise with a 3-0 win over MSOE.
Patrick Donohue had seven kills with no errors, hitting an impressive .778. Elgin added 11 kills, and freshman
Erik Halberg had seven kills and hit .375. The offensive effort for MSOE was led by Brian Main, who had 10 kills.
In the hard-fought match against Carthage, senior libero
Christian La Du tied his season high of 15 digs to lead the defense. Senior setter
John Konow and Kriz contributed to the defensive effort with 11 and 10 digs, respectively. Elgin had 13 kills hitting .450 with five blocks, and senior
Charlie Caldwell added seven kills. The Brewers took the first set, but the back-and-forth play that followed saw Carthage prevail. Pat Berry had 21 kills and 12 digs to lead Carthage.
Vassar defeated Endicott with a balanced offense, with three Brewers recording double-digit kills. Elgin had 15,
Luke Sobieraj had a career-high 11 kills and season-high 10 digs, and Donohue had 10. Konow had 46 set assists. Josh Anderson had 13 kills, and John Osbourne had 10 for Endicott.
