POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (February 4, 2013) – The Vassar College men's basketball team will travel to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute tomorrow evening before going into the final two home games of the 2012-13 season. The Brewers still have two away games following the two-game homestand.

Vassar Notes: The Brewers (7-13, 3-8 Liberty League) finished the season sweep of St. Lawrence University Saturday afternoon in a double-overtime, 84-80 decision. Freshman guard
Erikson Wasyl hit a clutch 3-pointer with 0.5 seconds remaining, sending Vassar into the first overtime period despite the fact that the game looked to be all in favor of the visiting Saints. Sophomore guard
Curtis Smith made a layup with seven seconds remaining in regulation, cutting the Saints lead to two, 66-64. A Brewer foul followed two seconds later, putting St. Lawrence leading scorer, Brady Condlin on the line. Condlin hit the first free throw, but out of character for the Condlin, he missed his second shot (first of the game), allowing Wasyl to tie the game 67-67 with the 3-pointer from the top of the arc and three feet out.
The Brewers average 63.7 points a game and allow 66.0 points per game. Junior forward
John Donnelly leads the Brewers averaging 11.6 points per game and also grabs 5.3 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward
Alex Snyder averages 10.7 points per game and a team-high 10.1 rebounds per game.
Vassar Next Game: The Brewers will host Hobart College Friday night at 8:00 pm. Vassar outscored the Statesmen 43-35 on January 26 in the second half but could not overcome the 41-16 first half deficit in the 76-59 loss.

RPI Notes: Rensselaer (10-9, 5-5 Liberty League) defeated RIT, 88-75 on Saturday afternoon. Senior guard/forward Brendan Farley hit 20 points, leading the Engineers in the Liberty League contest. Tyler Gendron and Cedric White each added eight points in the win.
RPI's offense is averaging 83.0 points per game, while its defense is allowing 83.7 points per game. Farley leads with 13.6 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game. Jamie Zajac adds 12.1 points per game. Daniel Martin pulls down 6.5 boards per game.
