Women's Lacrosse Cruises Past Bard, 13-5, In Liberty League Play

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The Vassar College women's lacrosse team got goals from 10 different players and cruised to a 13-5 victory over Bard College in Liberty League action on Tuesday night.

Vassar scored just 52 seconds into the contest when freshman Katherine Stegmann scored the first of her two goals. The Brewers led 6-2 at halftime and build up a comfortable 10-3 lead with 13:36 remaining in the contest.

The Brewers improve to 5-6, 2-3 in the Liberty League, while Bard drops to 5-7, 0-5. Vassar will host RPI on Weinberg Field on Friday at 4:00 pm. Bard will host Skidmore on Friday at 4:00 pm.

In the victory, Vassar got two goals each from Stegmann, sophomore Phoebe Tzannes and Maura McCarthy. Sophomore Cameron Felt and senior Elizabeth Feltch contributed a goal and two assists apiece in a game in which the outcome was never in doubt.

The Brewers got 10 saves from senior keeper Heather Kesselman who played 45 minutes in the contest and allowed three goals. Freshman Evie Tolland had four groundballs.

Bard got two goals from sophomore Stephanie LaMont.
