Women's Squash Takes Third In Epps Cup With 6-3 Win Over St. Lawrence

Junior Sanam Khanna clinched the match with a win at No. 7.

CAMBRIDGE, MA (February 26, 2012) -- The Vassar College women's squash team defeated St. Lawrence 6-3 to claim third place at the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships Epps Cup (D Division) on Sunday.

Vassar won the No. 2 through No. 5 positions and the No. 7 and No. 9 positions to tally six points. Leading 4-3, junior Sanam Khanna overcame a 1-0 deficit against Cecile Benedict at No. 7 and won the next three sets 11-7, 11-7, 11-9 to clinch the win for Vassar.

At No. 4, freshman Alexandra Bowditch outlasted Kendall Harty -11,11-7,11-4,11-7 to cap the 6-3 victory.

The Brewers finish the season 6-14.
