CAMBRIDGE, MA (February 25, 2012) -- In the semifinals of the College Squash Association Team Championships Epps Cup (D Division), the Vassar College women's squash team suffered a narrow 6-3 loss to No. 26 Smith College on Saturday at Harvard's Murr Center.

The No. 27 Brewers (5-14) face the No. 28 St. Lawrence for third place on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

Three matches went to four games and two matches went to five games, both five-setters won by Smith. Vassar garnered points and the No. 2, No. 3, and  No. 4 postions.

At. No. 4, Vassar freshman Alexandra Bowditch knocked off Eunice Zhao in four sets 7-11,11-8,11-6,11-6. Senior Libby Pei took down Clair Oblamski in straights 11-4,11-7,12-10 at No. 2 and Nina Pununkollu rolled over Jennifer Krain 11-8,11-1,12-10.
