Women's Squash Downed By Connecticut College 7-2

NEW HAVEN, CT (December 8, 2012) – The Vassar College women's squash team fell to Connecticut College Saturday afternoon at Yale University's Brady Squash Center.

Seniors Jill Levine and Avery Siciliano went all five sets with their opponents.

The Brewers (4-5) will next look forward to their spring semester schedule when they travel to Haverford, PA for the Haverford College Challenge on Saturday, January 26. The Brewers will play Georgetown University at 1:30 pm and Haverford at 3:00 pm.

Levine had a two-set lead over Camel No. 4 Alexis DiTomasso 11-9, 11-8 before dropping the third and fourth sets 11-9, 11-4. She fought back in the fifth set but fell 11-8. “Levine made a sterling effort to get back on track in the deciding game,” head coach Jane Parker said. “She played catch-up to 8-10 when DiTomasso clinched the final point.”

Siciliano fell to No. 5 Lucy Wallace in the fifth set 12-10. “Siciliano seesawed to 2-2 but went down by a slim margin in the fifth,” Parker said.”
No. 8 Andrea Fahmy defeated Myra Jacobs 11-3, 11-8, 11-9 and No. 9 Devina Vaid defeated Alhel Garza 11-6, 11-2, 11-2 for Vassar's only wins.
