Men's Hoops Faces Mount Saint Mary Tomorrow In Final 2012 Home Game

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (December 11, 2012) – The Vassar College men's basketball team will host the final 2012 home game Wednesday night against Mount Saint Mary College at 7:00 pm. Wednesday's game is also Student-Athlete Appreciation night.

Vassar Notes: The Brewers (4-4) defeated Sarah Lawrence College by a 59-point margin 78-19 Monday night. Junior guard Sam Rappaport went a perfect 7-7 from beyond the 3-point line to lead the Brewers. Sophomore Alex Snyder got his sixth double-double of the season with 17 points and ten rebounds. Sophomore guard Curtis Smith was perfect from the free throw line and the 3-point line to add 12 points.

Snyder reclaimed the Brewer season lead with a 12.0 points per game average. He also is averaging 12.3 rebounds per game. Junior forward John Donnelly is averaging 11.5 points per game.

Vassar Next Game: The Brewers will next start their 2013 schedule with three straight away Liberty League games. The first of the three games is on January 8 at Bard College for an 8:00 pm start. Vassar has no more non-league opponents scheduled after Mount Saint Mary.

Mount St. Mary Notes: The Knights fell to the University of Scranton 64-57 Thursday night. Mount St. Mary entered halftime with a 30-24 lead. Scranton overpowered the Knights with 40 second half points and four players breaking into double-digit scoring. Joe Stabach and Donte Howell each had 13 points to lead the Knights.

Howell leads the Knights with a 16.8 points per game average. Joe Henain is averaging 11.8 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game and has 23 blocks this season.

Mount St. Mary Next Game: After tonight's game, Mount St. Mary will begin the new year with a trip to Skyline opponent Purchase College in Purchase, NY on Monday, January 7 at 5:00 pm.

Vassar Head Coach: Del Harris is in his fifth season.

Mount St. Mary Head Coach: Ryan Kadlubowski is in his fourth season.
