POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (November 20, 2012) – The Vassar College men's basketball team (2-0) takes its first road trip tonight. The Brewers head into Brooklyn, NY to play St. Joseph's College – Brooklyn (1-1).
Vassar Notes: Sophomore forward
Alex Snyder led the team during this past weekend's successes. Snyder had back-to-back double-doubles that earned him the Liberty League Honor Roll. He had 33 rebounds and 26 points after the two games.
Junior forward
John Donnelly is second on the team in points averaging 12.5 a game and second in rebounds with 16. Senior guard
Jon Herzog averages 12.0 points a game.
"We're excited about the opportunity to play on the road for the first time this year," head coach Del Harris said. "We'll be playing a very good St. Joseph's Brooklyn team."
St. Joseph's College - Brooklyn Notes: The Bears won the opening round of the Regis Tip-Off Tournament 70-59 against Regis College. They dropped the championship game 83-74 against Purchase College.
St. Joseph's is led by Michael Megafu with 35 points and 21 rebounds in its two games. The last time the Bears and the Brewers met was in last year's season opening game for both teams. Vassar won 69-66.
Vassar Head Coach: Del Harris is in his fifth season.
Hunter Head Coach: Joseph Cocozello is in his 11th season.
