Women's Squash Takes Second at Seven Sisters For Fifth Straight Year

NORTHAMPTON, MA (February 5, 2011) -- In the sixth consecutive Seven Sisters Championship squash match between Vassar College and CSA No. 15 Mount Holyoke, Mount Holyoke won its fifth straight championship with a 9-0 win over Vassar on Saturday. The Brewers knocked off Wellesley 8-1 in the semi-finals to reach their sixth straight championship.

The Brewers (4-6) host the Vassar Team Challenge this Saturday at Kenyon Hall at 1:30 p.m. against Columbia and Wesleyan.

Against Wellesley, freshman Lisa Evans overcame 2-1 set deficit against Jennifer Hsu for a gritty 11-6, 8-11, 9-11, 11-4, 11-4 win at the No. 6 spot. Classmate Willow Thompson, now 6-4 on the season, continued her dominance with an 11-3, 11-4, 11-5 win over Margot Sulmont at the No. 4 spot.

Sophomore Libby Pei and senior Kristine Bell were named to the Seven Sisters Championship All-Tournament Team.
