Women's Squash Downed By Columbia and Wesleyan

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (February 12, 2011) -- The Vassar College women's squash team dropped decisions 8-1 to Collegiate Squash Association (CSA) No. 14 Columbia and 7-2 to CSA No. 19 Wesleyan in the Vassar Team Challenge Saturday afternoon at Kenyon Hall.

The Brewers (4-8) celebrate Senior Day tomorrow, February 12, against Tufts at 12:00 p.m. at Kenyon Hall.

Senior first-year player Elizabeth Anderson earned Vassar's lone point against Columbia with an 11-8, 11-8, 9-11, 11-8 win over Kate Hansen. Sophomore Jill Levine came up just short in a 7-11, 6-11, 11-8, 11-4, 12-10 marathon match against Alex Mouta at No. 8 singles.

Levine regrouped and rallied for a win in her second five-setter of the day,  10-12, 13-11, 11-8, 7-11, 11-7 over Kerry Klemmer. Against Wesleyan, Kristine Bell routined Diana Edwards 11-7, 11-0, 11-9 at the No. 2 position.
