WEST PALM BEACH, FL (March 8, 2010) – Bridgewater State College went on a 4-0 scoring run, tallying three of those goals on free position shots, to erase a 13-10 deficit and defeat the Vassar women's lacrosse team in the season opening on Monday morning as part of Spring Fling games in West Palm Beach, FL.
The Brewers, now 0-1 on the season, will face Drew University on Wednesday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. Bridgewater improves to 1-0 on the season and will face St. Lawrence University on March 9 at 7:00 p.m.
In an evenly played game that featured six ties and a 7-6 Vassar lead at halftime, the Brewers went ahead 13-10 with 11:15 to play in the contest on a goal by junior
Allie Morgan. Bridgewater responded by scoring the game's final four goals – all by a different Bear player – from the 7:57 mark to the 3:19 mark, to take a 14-13 lead that held over the final minutes.

On the strength of five straight goals – two coming from sophomore attack
Elizabeth Feltch and Garrison, and a single tally by Warner, the Brewers adeptly erased a 9-7 deficit to take a 12-9. But Bridgewater State got a 13-13 game tying goal from junior attack Jenny Jones, her fifth of the game with 3:50 to play and the winning tally with 3:19 to play from senior midfielder Shannon Manning for the victory. Nicole Engelhardt, who made 12 saves in the game.
Bridgewater State senior goalie Meghan Griffin made 16 saves for the Bears against a Vassar team that had 41 shots on goal.
Warner led the Brewers with four goals, followed by Garrison with three goals and Morgan with two.
The Brewers held a 12-6 advantage in ground balls and converted on 18 of 22 clears.
