HARTFORD, CT (December 4, 2010) -- In a match with five five-setters that could have flipped either way, the Vassar College women's squash team came up just short in a 6-3 loss to the College Squash Association (CSA) No. 21 ranked Bowdoin College Saturday evening at the George A. Kellner Squash Center.

The CSA No. 22 ranked Brewers (2-3) return from the holiday hiatus to face Colby College at Yale University on January 22.

At the no. 6 position, Vassar freshman Lisa Evans outlasted Louisa Cannell of Bowdoin 11-9, 5-11, 14-12, 8-11, 11-9. Classmate Willow Thompson dispatched Bowdoin's Alex Peacock in four sets 11-7, 11-7, 7-11, 11-5 at the no. 4 spot. Vassar's Avery Siciliano picked up the third point as her opponent retired.
