CAMBRIDGE, MA (February 15, 2009) – The Vassar College women's squash team rounded out its weekend at the Howe Cup with a 7-2 win over Wesleyan University in the Walker Division, at Harvard University on Sunday. With the win, Vassar finishes fourth in the Walker Division and No. 19 in the Howe Cup.
The Brewers finish the season at 11-8 though the season is not yet over, with the CSA Individual Championships at Williams College February 27-29.
Vassar won at the top seven spots, with No. 4 Caitlyn Ly (Tucson, AZ/Clayton) and No. 7
Sarah Hockney (Brooklyn, NY/Saint Ann's) pulling out five-game wins. No. 1
Emilie Kraft (Seattle, WA/Seattle Academy) picked up a 3-1 win to improve her season record to 14-5. Also earning victories were
Eleanor Weiss (Millwood, VA/Holton-Arms),
Kristine Bell (Kingston, Jamaica/Immaculate Conception),
Hope Blinkoff (Buffalo, NY/Nichols) and
Meg Taylor (Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury) as the Brewers picked up another win over Wesleyan after defeating the Cardinals last weekend at the Vassar Squash Challenge.
