Sophomore Eli Polston was seeded No. 1 in the elimination bracket of the season-opening Big One at Smith College, after he undefeated in pool play, allowing just three touches on him. In the round of 64, Polston knocked off Austin Funk from BC 15-2, before heading into the Round of 16 thanks to a 15-4 victory over Schuyler Link of Tufts University. Polston continued to cruise into the semifinals, earning 15-5 and 15-0 wins over Colin Rose (UNH) and Sam Lorenz (BU). Once in the semifinals, Polston dropped a hard-fought 15-12 decision to Benjamin Lin of MIT.
