Guzick went 3-0 at No. 2 singles and 2-1 at No. 1 doubles in Vassar's 2-1 opening weekend. Against Division I Army, Guzick had a phenomenol comeback win over Donald Van Velzer 5-7, 7-6 (2), 10-3. He knocked off Farmingdale's Justin Vijungo 6-0, 6-0 and Baruch's Christopher Jenkins 6-1, 7-6 (8-6).
This is Ben Guzick's second weekly award this season and his seventh overall. He has earned Liberty League All-Conference Singles and Doubles honors the past two seasons.
A 2008 graduate of the Harley School, Ben Guzick was a six-year letter winner and led his team to a No. 7 national ranking in his senior year. Guzick won the New York State high school doubles championship as a junior and was named All-State as well as district player of the year. A four-year Finger Lakes All-League member, Guzick was named a top 150 recruit in the class of 2008 by tennisrecruiting.net. Guzick transferred to Vassar from Carleton College where he was ranked No. 5 in the Central Region and No. 18 nationally in the ITA preseason rankings as a sophomore.
