Vassar College Athletics

CAREER (as of 4/17): Posted a 61-31 record in singles and a 65-30 record in doubles… team went 32-23 in three seasons at Vassar... team qualified for NCAA Division III Championships three straight seasons... team ranked a program best No. 22 nationally in 2010.

AS A SENIOR IN 2011-12 (as of 4/17): Went 13-8 in singles and 24-4 in doubles with Andrew Guzick… teamed with Andrew Guzick to become the program’s first doubles team to win a match at the ITA National Small College Championships, finishing in sixth place and earning ITA No. 6 national ranking and NCAA Division III All-America Team status... paired with Andrew Guzick to win the doubles tournament of the ITA Northeast Regional Championships, defeating Skidmore’s Jimmy Sherpa and Alec Hoblitzell (10/2)... ranked No. 1 in doubles in ITA Northeast (4/14)... won A Flight Doubles draw of the Trinity Invitational with Andrew Guzick (9/11)... twice named Liberty League Performer of the Week... earned Liberty League All-Academic Team honors.

AS A JUNIOR IN 2010-11: Went 15-13 in singles and 14-13 in doubles... garnered  a unanimous Liberty League All-Conference Singles selection and earned All-Conference Doubles honors with Josh Jasso... named Liberty League Performer of the week three times... defeated No. 17 Max Frey of No. 9 Trinity (TX) (3/11)...ranked No. 30 in ITA Northeast (5/5)... earned Liberty League All-Academic Team honors. 

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2009-10: At Carleton, went 6-1 in singles… reached the finals of the Midwest ITA Regional Championship… ranked No. 5 in the Central region and No. 18 nationally in the ITA preseason rankings... selected to the MIAC All-Academic team...transferred to Vassar College in the Spring of 2010… in first spring at Vassar, went 16-5 in singles and 12-4 in doubles... ended season with ITA Division III National rankings of No. 47 in singles and No. 18 in doubles with Andrew Guzick and ITA Northeast rankings of No. 15 in singles and No. 5 in doubles... garnered Liberty League All-Conference Singles honors and All-Conference Doubles honors with Andrew Guzick... named Liberty League Performer of the week three times.
 
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2008-09: At Carleton, went 14-4 in singles and 12-8 in doubles… finished the season at No. 1 singles with a 9-4 record… named MIAC All-Conference singles and doubles… selected to the MIAC All-Academic team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Team was ranked No. 7 in the nation his senior year… won the New York State high school doubles championship as a junior… named All-State his junior year… named District Player of the Year as a junior… named Finger Lakes All-League four years… lettered six years at the Harley School... named a top 150 recruit in the class of 2008 by tennisrecruiting.net... served as student body president of the Harley School as a senior.

PERSONAL: Parents are David Guzick and Donna Giles… born May 6, 1990… younger brother Andrew is a Vassar tennis freshman standout… transferred to Vassar for the academics and to play on the tennis team with his brother… intends to major in English… lists Pedialyte as his favorite food… a top 100 internationally ranked chess player in his age group from age 15-18.
