Deputy Director of Athletics, Director of Student-Athlete Welfare and Senior Women Administrator Kaitlin Leach is pleased to announce that Faye Stevens has been named as the Administrative Fellow for Compliance and Student-Athlete Welfare for the Department of Athletics and Physical Education.
Stevens will assist with the implementation of a comprehensive student-athlete welfare strategic plan and contribute to the operations of the department. She will also assist with the administration of programming towards the holistic development of student-athletes and oversight of NCAA rules compliance, student-athlete welfare, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
"We're thrilled to welcome Faye to the compliance and student-athlete welfare team. Faye brings a strong commitment to student-athlete support and well-being, along with valuable experience from her time as a member of the track and field program and her leadership within the VSA all four years, where she served as the Director of Student Events, Wellness Executive, and Class Senator. Her experience and passion will be a tremendous asset to our work, and I'm excited to see the impact she'll make as we continue to grow and support our mission," Leach said.
This one year, post-baccalaureate fellowship will provide an opportunity to create and manage education and leadership programs, campus events, and sustained learning experiences that transform the Vassar student-athlete experience. The administrative fellow will interact with cross-campus colleagues on a daily basis and positively impact the collegiate experience for more than 20% of the student body.

Stevens will also assist Leach with the implementation of the department's comprehensive student-athlete welfare plan which includes the development and logistics of RISE, serving as the co-advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and assisting with the management and oversight of all compliance, student-athlete data and implementing and facilitating support, advocacy and violence prevention programming.
Stevens was a four-year member of the Vassar Track and Field team and earned her first College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honor as a senior. Stevens posted a career-best time in the 400 meters for a 10th place finish at the NYU Invitational before collecting three top-four finishes at the West Point Tune-Up. Stevens finished third overall in the pentathlon at the Liberty League Indoor Championships and recorded career-bests in the 60-meter hurdles and the high jump. Stevens followed it up with a career-best pentathlon score of 3155 at the AARTFC Championships and tallied two more career-bests. Stevens closed her career with a career-best finish in the heptathlon in second place overall with 3950 points at the Liberty League Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She graduated with a degree in Biology and Science, Technology and Society in the spring of 2025.
