2022: The senior outside hitter continued his solid play having 13 matches played appearing in 24 sets. In those 24 sets, he managed to gain 27 points, 18 kills, and seven service aces… averaged 1.13 points and 0.75 kills per set. On the defensive side, he had 15 digs and three blocks with a 97.9 serve receive percentage.
2021: The junior outside hitter logged a solid season, playing 31 sets with 53 points and 38 kills... averaged 1.71 points and 1.23 kills per set... Five aces with two in a single match against Nazareth... On defense, he had 16 digs and 11 blocks... went 98% on serve receiving.Â
2020: Solid sophomore campaign, appearing in 42 sets and starting six of 18 matches… Fifth on the team with 14 service aces… Made 55 kills, 36 digs, and 15.0 total blocks… Season-high 12 kills on .391 hitting in the win over Hunter (2/29)… Recorded a season-best six aces in the win against Bard (3/4) and also had nine kills and two blocks.
2019: An impact hitter and solid contributor, Kaplan had an outstanding rookie campaign for Vassar in 2019 … He appeared in 85 sets across 26 matches, including 19 as a starter … Finished third on the team in total kills with 191 … Had a 2.25 kills per set average to go along with a .155 hitting percentage and 2.69 points per set average … Added 18 assists … Slammed home 21 aces - which ranked fourth on the squad … Recorded 95 digs for a 1.12 set average while adding 31 total blocks (3 solo, 28 assisted) … Posted at least one kill in 24 of 26 games, including ten with 10+ strikes … Had 14 kills, an assist and nine digs in a four-set win over Ramapo on January 19 … Notched 12 kills with an ace, two digs and five block assists in a four-set victory against Emmanuel on January 26 … Had nine kills, an assist, an ace, six digs and four block assists in a five-set win against NYU on February 1 … Posted a career and season-high 19 kills, adding two assists, six digs and a block assist in a victory over Johnson & Wales in four sets on February 9 … Laid down nine kills and eight digs with two assists, two aces and three block assists in a four-set win against Daemon on April 6.
BEFORE VASSAR: Managed the girls’ volleyball team at Heritage High School all four years because there is no high school boys’ volleyball in Northern Virginia…Qualified for the USA Junior Boys’ Volleyball National Championships with his club team, BRYC National…Won a silver medal with Team USA at the 2015 Pan American Maccabiah Games in Santiago, Chile.
