2020: Outdoor season canceled due to Covid-19 ...

2019: Competed in nine meets as a sophomore… Ran the 5,000m and 3,000 steeplechase at Liberty Leagues, recording a personal best of 12:07.72 in the steeplechase… Finished eighth in the 5,000m with an 18:28.39… Placed fifth in the 5,000m at the AARTFC Championships with a time of 18:14.44… Won the 3,000m race at the Stockton Invite (3/23) with a personal best time of 10:51.98… Other personal bests in the 1,500m (4:58.20) and 5,000m (18:02.64).

2018: Competed in eight meets as a first-year… Opened the season at the Willie Williams Classic (3/16-17), running a personal best time of 2:30.2 in the 800m… Also ran a 5:07.1 in the 1,500m… Competed in the 5,000m race at the Ramapo Invitational (3/30-31), placing sixth at 18:47.1… Was part of the winning 4x400 relay at the TCNJ Invite (4/6-8) that ran 4:18.04… Continued to drop her 5k time at the Silfen Invitational (4/14), running 18:32.5… Placed fourth at the Vassar Brewer’s Invitational (4/21), running 11:00.31 in the 3,000m… Competed at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier (5/14), going 18:19.3 in the 5,000m.

PRIOR TO VASSAR: Ran track and cross country for the Maroons of the University of Chicago Laboratory High School...named team captain of the cross country and track distance squads as a senior...was a three-time regional qualifier in cross country, qualifying for the state championships four times...qualified for Illinois Top Times as a junior during indoor season...four-time state qualifier for outdoor track, while helping hold the school record in the 4x800 meter relay...holds personal bests coming into Vassar of 18:49 in the three-mile run, 11:50 in the 3200 meters and 5:32 in the 1600 meters...helped her track squad to sectional titles in 2014 and 2016, while winning the Independent School League three times from 2014 to 2016. 

PERSONAL: Parents Walmy Sveen and Paul Erling...has two siblings, Erik (13) and Eli (13)...cousin Johanna Spangler '12 was a NCAA qualifier for the Vassar track and cross country teams...chose VC for "its open curriculum and beautiful campus."
