PRIOR TO VASSAR: Lettered for two years in baseball and golf at Auburn High School...was captain of both the baseball team, for coach Hosa Harris and the golf team, for coach Skip Gooch...was named student athlete of the year for district RPS 205...was named a National Merit Scholar...recieved the DAR Good Citizen Award for the greater Rockford area...placed fourth in IHSA state with the Auburn High School scholastic bowl team his senior year...participated in marching band...was treasurer in the National Honor Society at AHS...participated in science olympiad...participated in math league... was an Illinois State Scholar.
PERSONAL: Son of John and Liz Brekelbaum...has tow brothers, Jesse (18) and Jonah (14)...plans to major in Economics...performs with the Beauty and the Beats Acapella group on campus...chose Vassar over Northwestern University and University of Minnesota.
