New Paltz, NY - The Vassar College Women's Volleyball split a pair of matches at the Hawks Invitational on Saturday afternoon as the Brewers fell 21-25, 22-25, 23-25 to Springfield before rebounding with a 25-21, 26-24, 25-15 sweep of Colby-Sawyer. Vassar's record moves to 5-2 overall on the season.

First Set
- Springfield went ahead 4-2 to open the match behind a kill and an ace from Victoria O'Neill.
- After back-to-back kills from senior Maura McAusland tied the set at four, the Pride posted six straight points to go ahead 10-4 on an ace from Karenna Allain.
- Springfield's lead expanded to 16-8 following a kill from Maliha Daubon.
- VC battled back to get within 19-17 on two kills from McAusland, a winner from sophomore Elena Feuer and a block from Feuer and sophomore Cayla Hoskins-Pfeiffer.
- Vassar came all the way back to take a 21-20 lead on a kill from junior Erin Lovett until five straight Springfield points, led by three aces from Tori Colosimo, gave the Pride the first set win.
Second Set
- The Pride pulled ahead 6-3 to begin the second set after two kills from Jodi Saelua and a winner from Alexa Bonato.
- Vassar got even at six, led by a block from senior Holland Kaplan and Lovett, before Springfield went back ahead 12-7.
- The Pride expanded its lead to 18-9 on two aces from O'Neill and two kills from Colosimo.
- Vassar clawed back to 19-15 on a kill and a solo block from junior Eleanor Gegen until Springfield took a 24-19 lead on a Saelua kill.
- The Brewers trimmed the lead to 24-22 on a kill apiece from McAusland and Feuer and an ace from senior Francesca Medrano but Springfield took the set 25-22.
Third Set
- VC soared in front 6-2 to start the third set as first year Riley Huang tallied two aces, Medrano landed an ace and Lovett and Gegen each buried a kill.
- Sophie Chevalier cut the lead to 7-6 with a kill but the Brewers pulled ahead 10-6 on a Feuer winner.
- Vassar's advantage grew to 16-11 on two kills from first year Gina O'Connell and one winner from McAusland.
- Springfield battled back to even the set at 20 on a block ffrom Saelua and Chevalier.
- The Pride took a 23-21 lead from Bonato before McAusland's kill knotted the set at 23 all.
- Springfield took the third set following consecutive kills from Bonato and Saelua.
For The Brewers
- McAusland tallied eight kills, two blocks and seven digs while Feuer posted seven kills, two blocks and four digs.
- Lovett added four kills and a block along with Gegen notching four kills, two blocks and four digs.
- O'Connell chipped in three kills and Medrano finished with 20 assists, three aces and 10 digs.
- Huang lifted eight digs and landed two aces.
For The Pride
- Saelua recorded 12 kills (.462) and four blocks while Urissa Stephens collected seven kills and six digs.
- Colosimo completed an all-around match with six kills, 31 assists, four aces and 11 digs while Bonato added six kills and six digs.
- Chevalier posted six kills, two blocks and two digs along with Daubon totaling four kills and an ace.

First Set
- The first set began knotted at four before a kill from Kaplan and a block from O'Connell and Kaplan put the Brewers ahead 8-5.
- Colby-Sawyer got back within one at 11-10 on a kill from Liv Chandonnait before the Brewers expanded the lead to 17-12 on kills from Lovett and Kaplan along with an ace from Petro and a solo block from O'Connell.
- Three straight aces from Bree Bacon reduced the lead to 18-17 and the Chargers tied the set at 21 on a Lucy Denu ace.
- Vassar collected the final four points of the set behind a kill from Kaplan and a solo block and winner from Lovett.
Second Set
- Colby-Sawyer scored a 4-1 lead to open the second set on aces from Bacon and Kaity Kelly before VC evened the set at five on a kill each from Feuer and Kaplan along with an ace from sophomore Ellen Zwerling.
- The Chargers pulled back ahead 12-7 on an ace from Maggie Wilder and expanded it to 19-13 on two winners from Chandonnait.
- VC scored the next four points, led by three kills from McAusland, to cut the deficit to 19-17.
- Addison Sasnett's kill put the Chargers on set point but VC scored the last four points of the set behind two kills from Kaplan and a winner each from O'Connell and McAusland.
Third Set
- Vassar dominated the third set as the Brewers scored the first six points of the set on two kills from McAusland, a winner from Kaplan and blocks from O'Connell, Hoskins-Pfeiffer and O'Connell.
- The lead increased to 10-2 on two kills and an ace from McAusland until Colby-Sawyer brought the lead down to 10-8 on a Chandonnait kill.
- VC pushed the lead up to 14-9 on a block from McAusland and Lovett before a Bacon ace tied the set at 15.
- Vassar scored the final 10 points of the third set as first year Sophia Ierulli landed four aces and McAusland tallied two kills.
For The Brewers
- McAusland finished with 12 kills (.370), two blocks and six digs while Kaplan posted 10 kills and 11 digs.
- Lovett added seven kills, three blocks and six digs along with O'Connell notching four kills and five blocks.
- Zwerling posted four kills and five digs while Ierulli finished with 28 assists, 10 digs and four aces.
- Huang lifted a match-high 30 digs and added five assists.
For The Chargers
- Sasnett registered eight kills and two blocks while Chandonnait recorded eight kills and 13 digs.
- Kamryn Brakemeier posted five kills, Clare Rocky posted four kills and Kaity finished with 12 digs.
- Denu tallied 12 assists and 16 digs along with Bacon finishing with five aces, 11 assists and 10 digs.
