Baseball Drops Midweek Tilt Against NYU

Vassar heads to St. Lawrence for a conference crossover series on Friday

Poughkeepsie, NY - The Vassar College Baseball team was held to two hits on Wednesday afternoon as the Brewers fell 10-0 in seven innings to NYU at Prentiss Field.

Vassar's record moves to 7-14 overall while the Violets improve to 8-11 on the season.

How It Happened
  • NYU scratched out a run in the top of the first as Harrison Blueweiss led off with a walk and scored on a Vassar error.
  • The Violets posted seven runs in the second behind a bases loaded walk of Evan Robson, a wild pitch, a RBI double from CJ Franchini and a bases clearing triple from Matt Dahl.
  • Max Oliveira's knocked in a run with a triple and later scored on an error to expand the Violets lead to 10-0 in the fifth.
For The Brewers For The Violets
  • Franchini knocked in two runs with two hits while Dahl added a triple and three runs batted in.
  • Clayton Green earned the win as he went 2.2 innings, allowing no hits, no runs and struck out one.
  • Cooper Paule, Brady Schiedt, Ansel Balmer and Dhruv Vengurlekar combined for 4.1 innings of scoreless pitching.
