Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Women's Lacrosse team was back in action at home Saturday afternoon and suffered a hard fought 17-14 loss to visiting Union on Senior Day. Prior to opening draw, the Brewers honored

Saturday's loss, Vassar's seventh straight defeat, drops it to 5-7 overall and 0-7 in league play while Union improves to 7-4 and a perfect 6-0 against league rivals.
How It Happened
- Union never trailed on Saturday after scoring four of the first five goals of the game.
- Maddy Schiller opened the scoring for the Garnet Chargers at the 13:16 mark of the contest and added an assist in the opening run.
- Vassar pulled to within 4-3 after Billings and Amelia Poirier (Atherton, CA) scored back-to-back goals late in the first quarter.
- Union came back with two tallies in the final 63 seconds of the period to carry a 6-3 lead to the second quarter.
- Union outscored Vassar 7-4 in a high scoring second frame and used a 5-0 scoring run to open a 12-5 advantage on a Schiller player-down goal with 3:00 minute before halftime.
- Vassar got two of the final three goals of the first half, tallies from Elizabeth Burgess (Columbus, OH) and Maddie Kaltsas (Minnetrista, MN), to make the score 13-7 heading into the intermission.
- Vassar outshot Union 19-17 over the opening 30 minutes with the Garnet Chargers holding a 14-7 halftime edge in draw controls.
- The Garnet Chargers scored three of the five third quarter goals to carry a 16-9 lead into the final frame.
- Vassar got tallies from Siena Wong (Scotts Valley, CA) and Burgess in the final 4:34 of the frame.
- Vassar allowed just one goal in the fourth quarter and scored five times, but could not get closer than the final three goal decision.
- A 3-0 run to start the quarter was keyed by Burgess' third goal of the campaign.
- A Sami Bonasia goal for Union with 5:32 left pushed it in front 17-12 ahead of goals from Kaltsas and Billings in the final 89 seconds of the tilt.

- Burgess finished a big day with three goals and five points for the Brewers.
- Billings scored three times, pushing her team lead in goals to 37.

- Maddie Greco forced two turnovers and picked up a pair of groundballs.
- Syndey Widlitz made four saves in Saturday's first half.
- Sierra Harris came on to make seven stops in the second half.
