Vassar scores its second straight one-goal victory over Clarkson and improves to 5-4 overall on the season and 1-1 in Liberty League play. The Golden Knights slip to 7-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
How It Happened
- Clarkson ran out to a quick 4-0 lead inside the first six minutes of the contest.
- Vassar would get on the board with a Hayden Sofield (Long Beach, NY) marker at the 8:36 of the opening period to stop the Clarkson run.
- The Golden Knights spread their lead to 5-1 on an Ethan Hopkins tally with 5:49 left in the quarter with what proved to be their final goal until early in the second frame.
- Vassar closed the first quarter with goals from Arcuri and Drew Mazzocco (Leesburg, VA) inside the final 3:03 of the quarter to pull to within 5-3 heading to the second frame.
- Vassar and Clarkson each scored once heading into halftime, with Tate Tinker (Lexington, KY) scoring with 7:17 left in the half to pull Vassar to with 6-5 at the break.
