Offensive Explosion Powers Vassar to 22-8 Victory Over Old Westbury

Stockman hits two homers, drives in six runs

Poughkeepsie, NY - Junior Noah Stockman blasted two homers and drove in six runs to help lead the Vassar College Baseball team to a 22-8 victory over Old Westbury on Wednesday evening at Prentiss Field.

The 22 runs are the most in a game since 2023 against Wentworth as the Brewers improve to 3-10 overall. Old Westbury falls to 5-5 on the season.

How It Happened
  • Old Westbury scored the first three runs of the game in the top of the first as Mike Tiseo knocked in two runs with a double and Chris Bartnik recorded a RBI single.
  • VC cut into the deficit with a sacrifice fly from first year Aidan Annello to make it 3-1.
  • JT Torres' RBI groundout knocked in Sean Maddi pushed the Panthers ahead 4-1 in the second.
  • The Brewers took the lead 6-4 in the second following a RBI single from first year Eric Wallick, a sacrifice fly from senior Jensen Bergman, a two-RBI triple from first year Jack Johnson and Johnson later scored on a passed ball.
  • OW evened the score at six on a two-run homer from Chris Bartnik.
  • VC put up a five-run third inning behind a balk scoring first year Kieran McGrath, a RBI single from Bergman and bases loaded walks of Annello, sophomore Dash Edwards and Stockman to go up 11-6.
  • Vassar's lead expanded to 14-6 in the fifth after RBI double from Edwards and a two-run blast from Stockman.
  • The lead ballooned to 18-6 in the sixth inning as first year Noah Townsend drove in a run with a double, Bergman added a RBI single, a bases loaded HBP of Stockman, and a wild pitch scoring Johnson.
  • Old Westbury posted two runs in the seventh on a two-RBI single from Sean Maddi to cut the deficit to 18-8.
  • Vassar's final crooked number came in the bottom of the seventh following a RBI single from Johnson, a RBI from Edwards and the second two-run homer of the game for Stockman for the final 22-8 score.
For The Brewers
  • Stockman finished 3-for-4 with two homers, six RBI and two runs scored while Johnson posted a 3-for-4 day with a triple, three RBI, four runs scored and two walks.
  • Bergman added a 4-for-5 night with three RBI and three runs scored along with McGrath tallying two hits, including a double and a triple, and two runs scored.
  • Townsend reached base in all six plate appearances and finished 2-for-2 with five runs scored while first year Eric Wallick recorded two hits and two runs scored.
  • Edwards drove in three runs and scored twice along with first year Nick Kreatsoulas registering a hit and two runs scored.
  • Junior Sage Roy-Burman earned the win in relief as he went two innings, allowing no hits, one walk and struck out three.
  • Sophomore Zach Berner picked up the save as he tossed the final three innings, giving up three hits, two runs (zero earned), three walks and struck out three.
For The Panthers
  • Bartnik went 2-for-2 with a homer, three runs batted in and two runs scored while Maddi tallied two hits and two RBI.
  • Tiseo knocked in two runs while JJ Palumbo recorded two hits.
  • Torres drove in a run and stole a base and Brandon Hernandez posted a double and a run scored.
  • Joe Cavallo took the loss as he went 0.2 innings, allowing four hits, five runs, five walks and struck out one.
