John McCreery becomes Vassar's all-time leader in wins in his eighth season at the helm.
Vassar evens its overall record at 3-3 with Saturday's win and takes its fourth straight decision against Western Connecticut in the two sides' first meeting since 2016. The Wolves fall to 4-3 through their first seven contests of the season.
How It Happened
- The Wolves got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 3-0 lead just under six minutes into the contest.
- Vassar came back with player-up goals from Drew Mazzocco (Leesburg, VA) and Tate Tinker (Lexington, KY) to bring the Brewers to within 3-2 heading into the second stanza.
- After Western Connecticut opened the second quarter scoring with a Cody Suhr tally, Vassar ripped off the next five goals to open a 7-4 advantage.
- Mazzocco scored twice in the run for the Brewers, including his third of the game with 9:14 left before halftime.
