Orlando, FL – The Vassar College Men's Tennis team scored a 4-2 split squad victory over Hamline Thursday afternoon.
Shrey Choudhary (Farmington, CT) and
Avery Frekhtman (Woodmere, NY) both won their first career matches for the Brewers.
With a 1-1 record on Thursday, Vassar improves to 3-2 overall on the season while the Pipers fall to 2-7.
Doubles
- Hamline clinched the doubles point in the match with victories at the first and second positions.
- Vassar's third pair of Maximus Martin (El Paso, TX) and Trevor Hajek (Denver, CO) won for the first time this season with a 6-0 third doubles win.
Singles
- Martin moved to 2-1 in singles competition through three spring decisions on Thursday following a 6-0, 7-6 (7-5) second position win against the Pipers.
- Sanjay Rajkumar (Olathe, KS) improved to 2-0 on Thursday after posting a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the third position.
- Choudary clinched the win for the Brewers with his first career singles victory, scoring a 6-0, 6-1 win at the fifth position.
- Frekhtman also won his first career decision for the Brewers, outlasting the opponent at the fourth position by scores of 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-2).

- Vassar will be back in action Friday when it tussles with St. Norbert and Augustana (SD).
