Men’s Lacrosse Falls On The Road At Williams

Eads totals four points in loss

Williamstown, MA – The Vassar College Men's Lacrosse team returned to the road Tuesday afternoon and dropped a hard fought 15-9 decision at Williams. Anderson Eads (Brightwaters, NY) led the Brewers' scoring attack with a hat trick and four points.
 
Vassar falls to 2-3 overall following Tuesday's result while the Ephs improve to 3-1.
 
How It Happened
  • After Williams jumped out to a quick 4-0 advantage, Vassar got on the board with a Tate Tinker (Lexington, KY) tally at the 7:00 mark of the opening frame.
  • The Ephs came back with the next three goals before Travis Heller (Lafayette, NJ) and Eads scored back-to-back goals to slice the deficit to 7-3 with 7:12 left before halftime.
  • The two goals from the Brewers started a 5-2 scoring run heading into halftime that brought Vassar to within 9-6 heading into the intermission.
  • Tinker scored twice in the run with Eads supplying two goals and a helper.
  • Through 30 minutes, Williams held a 26-14 advantage in shots and a 10-6 edge in face-offs.
  • Vassar came out of halftime with goals from Nate Johnson (Brentwood, TN) and Beckett Wolf (Park City, UT) to climb to within a single goal at 9-8 with 8:43 left in the third frame.
  • Williams came back with the next five goals to open a 14-8 lead on a Will Doran marker with 8:34 left in the contest.
  • Eads stopped the run with his third goal of the game before Doran struck again with just under five minutes left to close out the scoring in the game.
  • Vassar held a 19-16 advantage in shots after halftime and dominated face-offs with a 9-2 advantage.
 
For The Brewers
  • Eads recorded his fourth hat trick in five games on Tuesday, pushing his team lead in goals to 14 and points with 20. Eads added a groundball in the contest for the Brewers.
  • Tinker posted his third hat trick and fourth multiple goal game with three tallies on Tuesday, adding one groundball.
  • Heller closed the day with a goal, a caused turnover and two groundballs.
  • Gavin Arcuri (Westhampton, NY) led the Brewers with seven groundballs and added a forced turnover.
  • Danny Holt (Rochester, MI) went 14-for-23 in face-offs for Vassar and collected four groundballs.
  • Jess Geoghagan (Mercer Island, WA) suffered the loss in goal, turning aside 11 shots and securing two groundballs.

  • Jack Sartorius tallied four times and secured four groundballs for Williams.
  • Doran potted four goals in the victory and collected a pair of groundballs.
  • Nick Reich scored twice and helped on two other goals to go along with three groundballs.
  • Aidan Housenbold assisted on three goals and led the team with three caused turnovers and eight groundballs.
  • Ian Kim won 10 face-offs and collected four groundballs.
  • Charlie Medd earned the win in goal for Williams with 14 stops.

  • Williams finished with a 42-33 advantage in shots on Tuesday.
